Cassie has been an advocate for children for more than twenty years and pursued her calling to make the lives of children more healthy, balanced, and resilient. This work has been a lifelong passion. This passion for children began at age 17 when she volunteered at her local Boys and Girls Club and continued throughout her doctoral education. And now, after more than 15 years as a clinical child psychologist, her passion has been personalized as a mom of two.
Cassie is a self-described “kid helper" who helps kiddos be the happiest and healthiest kid they can be. She loves working with children and their families to help improve relationships, increase self-esteem, reduce problem behaviors, decrease family stress, and promote resiliency. Cassie uses a blend of evidence-based practices and creative interventions to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each child and family. She believes that counseling should be fun, playful, and engaging and you will often hear laughter coming from her office.
In her free time, Cassie likes reading and listening to podcasts. She also likes cooking and finding new recipes to try. Her greatest joy is spending time with her two children.
Cassie has been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Ohio and practiced there for more than 10 years before relocating to West Virginia and starting her family. She has a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College, is a national trainer in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and has years of experience in research and teaching. Cassie is also trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and truly enjoys working with young children.
